Our Mission

Our Mission

What We Do

Our mission is to minimize food waste from events such as parties and weddings by partnering with event organizers, caterers, and venues to collect surplus food. We aim to redistribute this excess food to peer and needy individuals, contributing to the fight against hunger and promoting sustainability in our community. Through our efforts, we strive to make a positive impact on both the lives of those facing food insecurity and the environment

Our Impact

Our initiative redirects surplus food from events to individuals in need, creating a significant impact. By providing nutritious meals, we improve the well-being of those facing food insecurity and contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing food waste and greenhouse gas emissions. This collaborative approach fosters community engagement and solidarity, inspiring global action. Our initiative embodies social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and collective action, driving positive change locally and globally.

ABOUT US

We at MealSavers believe that food is the basic right for everyone whether it is human or animal. Our organization aims to address the escalating food insecurity prevalent in our nation today. Despite India's self-sufficiency in food production, there exists a significant imbalance in food allocation. Approximately 60% of food at large-scale gatherings and 40% at smaller events is squandered. If appropriately allocated, this surplus could sustain numerous underprivileged families for over a week.. It safeguards the entitlement of every individual to reside with decency, liberated from hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition. We acquire information via our website regarding surplus food availability, gathering data on quantities and event dates to ensure suitability for consumption. Our team promptly arrives at the designated location to retrieve the food. We then establish a modest langar with the collected food and utilize mobile vans for efficient distribution. Additionally, we collaborate with NGOs and local agencies dedicated to alleviating hunger, such as CRY (Child Rights and You), HelpAge India, Navjyoti India Foundation, to facilitate wider distribution of the surplus food..

Through our website we want and encourage you, the user, to come forward and lend your hands towards our mission, for individually we are one drop, but together we are an ocean.

"Share A Meal Share A Smile."
